This complex, rich, warm and tannic 2013 Icarus Red is made from 100% organic Fokiano grapes. Nikos and Maria Afianes, and now their son Kostas, who studied in Bordeaux, follow the traditional winemaking techniques of the island, fermenting wine in clay jars that are buried underground. Only 800 bottles are
produced every year.
It has a ruby red colour, a complex nose of ripe red fruits and aromas from French oak followed by a rich and warm taste with soft tannins and flavours of wild cherry, black
mulberry and black pepper.
