The country boasts six main wine regions, stretching from the sun-soaked Small Carpathians near Bratislava to the volcanic soils of Tokaj in the southeast. These regions offer a diverse range of microclimates and terroirs, ideal for both native and international grape varieties. White wines dominate production, with crisp, aromatic styles made from varieties like Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, and the indigenous Devín and Milia.
