Chilled as an apéritif or to accompany fish dishes such as sole, salmon or trout.

This elegantly rich wine shows orange peel and mineral notes on the nose.The palate is full bodied with almonds, spice, honey and crystallised fruits through to a lovely, lingering finish.

Perfect as an aperitif, perhaps with some salted nuts, olives or smoked salmon canapés, while still having the depth and gravitas to partner puddings and blue cheese.

The aromas are powerful and complex encapsulating a wealth of ripe black cherries, blackberries with hints of white pepper and spice. The rich and harmonious palate delivers soft flavours of blackberry and chocolate notes, underpinned by fine French oak and defined by exotic spicy tannins. 

Best served with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, stewed dishes, sausage, barbecue and cassoulet. Domaine de la Solitude is also good with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, cheese, pasta, eggplant and tomatoes.
