The vineyards date back to 1880, planted by Charles King and worked on by legendary winemaker and Mount Pleasant founder, Maurice O’Shea. The fruit for the Estate Grown Semillon is sourced entirely from the Mount Pleasant vineyards. It is also released in its infancy to preserve the freshness and vitality that is Hunter Valley Semillon. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented before bottling within three months of production, this wine showcases all that is unique about Hunter Valley Semillon.
The wine is pale straw yellow in colour. The nose shows intense aromas of citrus and lemongrass, with a hint of dried herbs. The palate expresses concentrated flavours of lemon and lime with a beautiful acidity which drives toward the long finish.
